Episode 200 – Scary Childhoods

Hi folks!  If you’re just tuning in, you’ll probably notice this episode is another late post – like last episode, the events and shows mentioned here have already passed, but we want to list the info for you anyway for future reference.  (This is a great track record to be keeping as we arrive at our 200th Episode, we know – a lot of unexpected work obligations and deadlines popped up over the last few weeks.  Thank you for your patience!) HEAR Now Audio Fiction Festival:  As mentioned last week, this festival features audio fiction in all forms, especially audiobooks and radio plays, bringing together productionRead More →

Episode 199 – Will Yew Remember the Leech?

Hi there, folks!  This episode is posted late, so while we had some announcements to make about upcoming events to check out, unfortunately the deadlines for both have since passed.  We’re sorry for dropping the ball on this, but here’s the info anyway – be sure to keep these events in mind for when they come around next year! The Marion Thauer Brown Audio Drama Scriptwriting Competition:  it’s fourth year in a row, this competition opens their door to stories of all types of genres, and once judged, awards cash prizes and honors to first and second place winners.  Their only requirements are that theRead More →

Episode 198 – Hostel Planet

Hi there everyone!  We’re getting back on track with our new episodes once again after our unannounced Spring Break earlier this month.  Tonight, our good friends are back from 19 Nocturne Boulevard for an evening of mystery and suspense.  We’ll be all over the map, starting out with a supernatural-western tale, and then propelled into space for a tale of the unnatural.   19 Nocturne shares with us an episode of their western series, The Deadeye Kid in a story entitled “Hostel Territory“, and a science-fiction/horror story on the surface of Venus in “Within the Walls of Eryx“, an adaptation of a story by H.P. Lovecraft and KennethRead More →

Episode 193 – Adaptations

Welcome back everyone! It’s time for another evening of storytelling, and once again we have filled up the entire hour of our show with audio drama.  Rejoice! We’re having a sleepover at 19 Nocturne Boulevard, and you’re invited!  But these aren’t just any tales – tonight’s treats are two classic short stories with a modern twist.  The first is “Il Professoro’s Daughter“, inspired by a short story by Nathaniel Hawthorne entitled “Rappaccini’s Daughter” and published in the 1844 collection Mosses from an Old Manse.  The second is called “The View from Within“, based on the story “The Outsider” by H. P. Lovecraft which was first published in Weird Tales, April 1926.  (Interestingly,Read More →

Episode 183 – The Stage is Set for a Feature

Hello again, folks! For the past few weeks we’ve shared a handful of rediscovered treasures – episodes that were lost to our archives. Tonight we’re still taking a look back in a way, but with some brand-new stories to tell.  Our first selection is none-other than one of our MAT Features!  But how can that be, you ask?  Well, if you’re a long-time listener, you may have noticed back in 2014 that only one of our two winning Scriptwriting Competition entries was produced to air.  Some unfortunate stalling and production backfiring occurred that year which prevented us from sharing the second story with you…but weRead More →

Episode 179 – Not Your Average Holiday-time

Happy Holidays, everyone!  November is gone, and now it’s time to shower you with many a winter-wonderland-type tale!  This month we’re breaking out the Christmas stories, and every year we try to find a collection of unique and lesser-known tales, instead of the traditional “Carol”.  Tonight is certainly high on that unique list, with pieces from The Truth Podcast and 19 Nocturne Boulevard.  We start with “Naughty or Nice“, which shows us a glimpse of the infrastructure behind Santa’s corporate organization.  After that is a “Trilogy for Xmas“, with stories from the 1912 anthology “A Christmas Garland”, adapted for audio drama – “Scruts” by Arnold Bennett, “PCRead More →

Episode 170 – Phantom Melodies

It’s an uncovered, long-lost episode! At the time of this posting, this show had disappeared from our archives since it’s original airing 9 months ago.  Fortunately, as we continue to improve our upkeep of our website, we managed to uncover this show and can post it now for your listening pleasure.  It it, we had a full hour feature of works from 19 Nocturne Boulevard.  We continued with our interest in audio dramas of the wild west with 19 Nocturne’s ‘The Deadeye Kid‘ series – in this show, we hear Episode 4, “Haunting Melody“.  After that, it’s a quaint, cheeky short story penned by H. H.Read More →

Episode 169 – We’ve Gone Western!

Howdy folks!  You might find something a little different about our show tonight.  After getting a taste of some Westerns, we decided to bring around a few of them for September!  What caught our eye this week is the “Deadeye Kid” series from 19 Nocturne Boulevard.  Lemuel Roberts, once the infamous ‘Deadeye Kid’, travels the west as he tries to make up for his checkered past. In tonight’s story, Lem and his sidekick Fanshaw roll into a little town, just in time to stop an unjust hanging and help the town find out who actually deserves punishment.  It’s entitled “The Deadeye Kid : A Hanging At Pickens Rock“,Read More →

Hey MAT Fans! Tonight is another evening of 19 Nocturne and Our Fair City, but first we start things off with an announcement.
