Episode 197 – A Peculiar CLANG!

Hello folks!  You’ll notice we haven’t updated for a little while on our website – we took a Spring Break at the beginning of May.  If you tuned in on-air, we hope you enjoyed the blasts-from-the-pasts with Decoder Ring Theatre and Final Rune Productions.  But this time, no reruns!  It’s back to new episodes, starting with a variety of story genres as we welcome new and old friends back to our show. New to our show this episode is Earbud Theater, which has come together through a desire to escape the typical confines of TV and film storytelling.  They have been producing audio dramas sinceRead More →

Episode 193 – Adaptations

Welcome back everyone! It’s time for another evening of storytelling, and once again we have filled up the entire hour of our show with audio drama.  Rejoice! We’re having a sleepover at 19 Nocturne Boulevard, and you’re invited!  But these aren’t just any tales – tonight’s treats are two classic short stories with a modern twist.  The first is “Il Professoro’s Daughter“, inspired by a short story by Nathaniel Hawthorne entitled “Rappaccini’s Daughter” and published in the 1844 collection Mosses from an Old Manse.  The second is called “The View from Within“, based on the story “The Outsider” by H. P. Lovecraft which was first published in Weird Tales, April 1926.  (Interestingly,Read More →

Episode 185 – Dancers’ Refuge

Welcome back, everyone!  Tonight’s a jam-packed night of tales from Final Rune Productions and Decoder Ring Theatre.  It’s a show of firsts, with the First episode of The Cleansed, season 1, and the first in the Deck Gibson series.  One’s a post-apocalytpic nightmare; the other, a scifi adventure series harking back to the old days of Buck Rodgers and the like.  Decoder Ring Theatre brings us the science fiction, with an episode called “Deck Gibson and the Stardust Dancers“; but before that, it’s time to dive into the Final Rune series entitled “The Cleansed”, with the first episode entitled: The Cleansed, Episode 1 – TheRead More →

One more throwback….

Hi folks!  We found one more episodes that was wandering around outside of our archives, so we brought it back in and on the air for a listen.  It’s a show from 2014, featuring our first work with Yap Audio Productions and Glass Eye Pix.  A spooky episode, for a dark and stormy January evening!  You can find the episode here. Also, a big thank you to everyone who sent in their submissions to our Scriptwriting Competition!  Our judges will be reading and reviewing all scripts for the rest of this month, and we’ll be announcing the winners sometime in February.  Stay tuned, and goodRead More →

Episode 181 – More Holiday Tales (and a Feature!)

What a night for some holiday audio dramas!  And tonight, we have an extra treat – another story from our 2015 MAT Features!  It’s not Christmas-themed per-se, but it does start far up north, where a research team is investigating some uncovered ruins in a melting glacier. The story is written by Jim McDoniel, one of the winners of our scriptwriting competition last year. Both cast and crew greatly enjoyed this script, and we only hope that we did it justice! For our holiday selections, we start with a tale from Misfits Audio Productions entitled “Moop Saves Christmas“. It’s a sequel to “Moop’s Christmas Carol“, where a tiny alienRead More →

Episode 174 – Ghosts, Vampires and Bears; Oh My!

Welcome, folks!  We’re counting down the weeks of our spooky shows!  Tonight we have a trio of stories for you, with some special shorts and a long lighthouse mystery.  We are happy to share with you a new, local Columbus audio production, “The Zombie Teddy Bear“, based off of the children’s book by David Simone – it may sound scary, but it’s actually quite charming.  Following that is a joint production from Final Rune Productions and Biddeford High School in Maine, entitled “Vampire in the Vernal Pool” – part of a project to combine theatre art as outdoors-experimental learning. And of course, we have the secondRead More →

Episode 171 – Lovin’ the Lovecraft

Welcome back!  It’s October, and you know what that means – we’re kicking off a full month of spooky tales, in preparation for Halloween.   But not everything is filled with horror; some of the tales we have for you will have tastes of the comedic and adventure to round out our listening pallets.  This evening we decided to start things off with one of the masters of the supernatural, H.P. Lovecraft.  Our friends at Atlanta Radio Theatre Company have comprised a collection of stories based on the writer’s tales, some to unnerve – and some to make you chuckle.  ARTC  has a new release of this collection on their website entitled,”TheRead More →

Episode 168 – Voyage to the Bloody Tower

Sad but true, folks – tonight is our last show of HEAR Now Festival features from way back in June.   But what great shows to end on!  This episode, we kick things off with two stories from The Truth Podcast, produced by Jonathan Mitchell. We had one or two selections on our show from “The Truth” years ago, and to hear the podcast at the HEAR Now Festival was really exciting.
