Episode 320 – A Dip Into London’s Necropolis

Episode 320 – A Dip Into London’s Necropolis

Hello and welcome, audio drama adventurers! Last time, we were treated to the first three episodes of London Necropolis Railway, along with The Ordinary Epic, Episode 1: The Group. If you couldn’t get enough of them, don’t worry – neither could we! So coming up this show is the rest of LNR’s first season with Episodes 4-7, and another installment of the Ordinary Epic with Episode 2: The Dip.

Like last time, we’re kicking things off first with London Necropolis Railway. The show is a part of the Swedish project THE OTHER SIDE which is a multi media project aimed at young adults to help them cope with existential questions and mental health. With an impressive international cast, this first foray into audio drama for the team (producer Amanda, writer/director Hillevi and sound designer Mathias Schlegel) has resulted in a fantastic piece of work, with detailed sound design and an intriguing storyline. All of Season One is currently available online and the production group is currently looking into getting Season Two off the ground. You can follow them on Twitter to stay up-to-date with the show, at @LNRPod.

After that it’s time for The Ordinary Epic, where the Dauntless Dungeoneers embark on another quest – or rather, try to recover after the new guy throws their current quest for a sharp turn. If you hear some storytelling aspects of this show and its characters that are both familiar and relatable in the best of ways, that’s because much of the crew hales from one of the cornerstones of fantasy podcasts, Second Shift – which we had on our show a few years ago. We are beyond excited to hear more audio magic from this team and hope you are too. And if you’ve been enjoying the original music heard in The Ordinary Epic’s first episodes, check out their digital merch store – theordinaryepic.com/shoppe.

Now, who’s ready for some adventure? Enjoy!
