Episode 321 – Incoming Thacktivism

Episode 321 – Incoming Thacktivism

Whew! If you’re look for a show chock-full of storytelling without the host babbling, this is one for you! We have The Ordinary Epic back for another dose of adventure in Episode 3: Modern-Day Thacktivism, along with a journey to the far reaches of the Sys with Oblivity, Episode 1: Incoming.

And it really is incoming, as Oblivity is Rob Stringer’s first trip into the audio drama universe. Independently produced in Oxford, UK with a host of local talent, the story started as an idea that turned into a test performance at a local Scratch Night and took off from there. It’s a fun, quirky science fiction story where you might have a screw loose and/or banished to the outer edge of the solar system, but at the end of the shift everyone on crew has each others’ back. On the other side of the hour, the Dauntless Dungeoneers of The Ordinary Epic could be described similarly, with the band of adventurers that quarrel constantly both in-game and IRL – who do their best to support and understand each other when the pressures and concerns of real life bleed into the game, just as you’ll see this episode.

There will be more Oblivity next week, but this marks the last of Ordinary Epic on our show for now. Not to worry – there’s more to the story! Their first season can be found at www.theordinaryepic.com. The production team is on hiatus while they secure funding for their second season — consider joining their Patreon to help make further adventures of the Dauntless Dungeoneers possible – patreon.com/theordinaryepic.

Enjoy!
