Hello audio drama listeners, and welcome! This show you’re tuning in as we help kick off the start of WCBE‘s annual Fall Fund Drive. If you’re exclusively an online listener, you may not know that this show broadcasts every Friday night at midnight (hence the name) on WCBE 90.5 FM/HD Columbus and 106.3 FM Newark. This NPR station is home away from home, and we couldn’t have gotten MAT off the ground without their help, love and support. If you like MAT and want to tell WCBE how much you appreciate having audio drama on the radio airwaves where it all began, consider making a donation online at wcbe.org and listing MAT as one of your favorite shows to listen to. You financial contribution to the station helps WCBE support the community through listener-based programming, and your feedback can help MAT get traction in taking on more audio drama projects in the future. Please help out!
As for this show, we welcome back our friends at King Falls 660 AM with another report of the strange and unusual in the lonely mountain town – this time involving the predicament of the local library. After that, we’ll switch gears and propel ourselves across the multiverse for the first episode of the Hadron Gospel Hour. For those of you unfamiliar, the podcast follows Dr. Francis “Oppenheimer” Valdini and his assistant Mike Wilkinson as they attempt to fix a rift in the fabric of space-time. First developed in 2013 by creators Richard Wentworth and Michael McQuilkin, the Hadron Gospel Hour has taken off, winning two podcasting awards last year for their work. The show is a fantastic combination of sketch comedy, science fiction adventure and music. And speaking of awards, we can’t forget to mention King Falls AM‘s recent accomplishments, being nominated for Best Comedy in the 2016 Podcast Awards and one of the top 100 Comedy podcasts on iTunes. Congrats to both groups for their fantastic work! So stay tuned as we bring you these entertaining productions, with King Falls AM, Ep 2: “That Book is Overdue, President Lincoln” and Hadron Gospel Hour, Ep 1: “The Reluctant Hadronaut”.
