Home, sweet home: once again, we’re featuring stories that take place closer to Midnight Audio Theatre’s physical home…starting with another episode of The Cryptonaturalist.
Frankly, we’re addicted to this genre-busting audio journey. The Cryptonaturalist is created in Central Ohio by the talented Jarod K Anderson. His podcast received several awards in 2019, and it’s easy to see why – The Cryptonaturalist is a charming series of so much weird and wonderful nature that sounds very much like Welcome to Nightvale – but with all the Midwest charm Ohio offers. It’s the kind of aural art you just have to experience to understand. We really hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we have.
After that, we’ll pop down to southern Ohio to the fictional town of Mt. Absalom for the newest release from Hartlife NFP: Unwell. It’s a Midwestern gothic mystery replete with ghosts, conspiracies, and unusual families, all centered around the town’s boarding house. Lillian Harper has arrived to help her estranged mother run the house, but this isn’t the friendly small town life she expected. Not by a long shot.
Ohio is full of quirks, and even quirkier people. Have fun getting to know them!
