Scared yet?
If you’ve been checking out the last couple of episodes, you’ve been treated to pulse-pounding thrillers marked by murder and mayhem. This next tale is perfect listening for a hot summer day, because it will send a chill right down your spine.
Campfire Radio Theater returns with “Blood Puppets.” If you think clowns are creepy, just wait until you hear the puppets of a local television show invade the dreams of an anxiety-ridden single mother – giving her a taste of horrifying events soon to be part of her waking world. Will there be a price to pay, or will these puppets do their devious work with no strings attached?
Solid production, masterful writing, and spot-on acting combine to make “Blood Puppets” a very blood curdling drama. Given that intensity, the horror-filled situations, screams, and violence may not be suitable for a younger audience, so listener discretion is advised. Especially if you have puppets in your house.
As usual, we’ll relieve the tension with the latest horror hijinks from It’s All Been Done Radio Hour. They’ve got a wonderful parody of the old Scooby Doo cartoons with their series, The Mystery Dream Team. You’ll hear the team’s very first mission: “Frankenstein.” It’s a special treat, because it was recorded live, on an outdoor stage at the Columbus Arts Festival back in 2018. That gives the performance a special energy.
No more written tricks; get on with these two audio treats!
