Episode 354 – A Time Travel Tale to Die For

Episode 354 – A Time Travel Tale to Die For

Fire up your auditory boilers:  it’s steampunk time!

This episode of Midnight Audio Theatre marks the debut of an innovative, highly creative series in our fold:  The Tales of Sage and Savant.  The series busts storytelling convention in many ways; for example, our two heroes die at the end of every season…because that’s how they stay alive.

Confused?  Not once you know the show’s delightfully deadly premise.  Dr. Petronella Sage conducts research at Kings College in reanimating dead tissue to advance the science of limb replacement.  She accidentally electrocutes herself during one of her experiments, separating her consciousness from her body.  Along with her dedicated companion, Professor Erasmus Savant, she learns to time travel.  It’s accomplished by sending their consciousnesses to the past.  There, they each occupy the body of someone recently deceased.  After a season’s rollicking adventure, the only way to return to the present – and their own bodies – is to die in their past incarnations.

Not surprisingly, the show’s creators are equally accomplished.  Between them, Eddie Louise and Chip Michael have written musicals and operas, run a Ren Faire guild, earned degrees in music composition, coded computer software, performed at the famed Edinburgh Fringe, and…well, you get the idea.  This is one real-life dynamic duo!

Charge up your imagination’s dynamo; it’s about to take an electrifying ride with the first two installments of The Tales of Sage and Savant!
