Episode 292 – An Abandoned Place Goes Boom

Episode 292 – An Abandoned Place Goes Boom

Happy post-Halloween — and happy episode posting day!  A big apology to everyone waiting on our archive updates.  It’s been one of our weak points in keeping up MAT week-to-week.  We know it’s a pain, and it’s definitely on our list of New Year resolutions for 2019.  Thanks so much for hanging in there!

Two holidays have just past us by – we hope you had a wonderful World Audio Drama Day on October 30th, and an equally awesome Halloween on October 31st.  If you missed our Halloween broadcast, we bowed out for the night and gave our friends at Craft center-stage.  Their Halloween storytelling special is available at their website, with a host of locally-produced spooky tales.  Go check them out!

As for this episode, we dive into a month-long theme of drama and relationships by kicking things off with a bang – or rather, a Boom.  This hour we welcome Observer Pictures to our airwaves, to listen to the first three chapters of “Boom: A Serial Podcast“.  The group is lead by Faith McQuinn, who is also writer and producer of this story.  She is an avid storyteller in both video and written word, and Boom is a project with a lot of development history.  The story focuses on Porter, a computer technician and outdoor enthusiast, who is forced to come to terms with the murder of his best friend Genevieve.

Along with Boom, we’ll also be hearing the second episode from The Darkroom Podcast.  Going with our theme, this story is about loss, grief and horror as an amateur photographer, in the spirit of the previous episode, attempts to return some kodachrome slides to their original owner

So, prepare for a lineup of drama tonight!  First is “Boom” with Episode 1-3 – “First Date”, “Aftermath”, and “Rest in Peace” – followed by The Darkroom Podcast, Episode 2, “The Abandoned Salts’ Place”.  Happy listening!
