It’s time for us to get our fairytale ending for once, as Voices in the Wind Audio Theatre returns with the conclusion of their full-length adaptation of Sleeping Beauty. When we left the story, Princess Aurora had been whisked away to live with a trio of good fairies in the woods, in a vain effort to protect her from an evil fairy’s curse. After 16 years of searching, though, Princess Aurora’s whereabouts have finally been discovered. That can only mean…well, you’ll have to listen to Part 2 of Sleeping Beauty to find out!
We also have the return of The Cryptonaturalist, with a special investigation into one cryptid that we all know too well: ourselves. Entitled “Pep Talk,” it’s a very fitting story for our times: this installment was released in April 2020 – soon after our lives began to change due to COVID. At a time when everything seems to have gone awry, The Cryptonaturalist takes a look at the complex creatures known as “humans” – grounding us in our human nature and reminding us of the wonders we can still find around us.
If you enjoy this little piece of audio reflection time, give Field Guide to the Haunted Forest a read. It’s a collection of poems written by the show’s creator and host, Jarod K. Anderson. Copies are available at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
We’re living in a time that desperately craves stories of hope and happy conclusions, and we think these two audio tales do exactly that. Listen; you just might remember how to smile.
