Hi audio drama fans! As we’re getting caught up on our episode logs, we’re sorry to say that at the time of this posting, the MAT scriptwriting competition has come to a close. Good luck to everyone who submitted, and be sure to keep an eye out for the competition again next fall!
This show, it’s the little things that get to you. It’s all well and good to say “don’t sweat the small stuff” – until it’s the small stuff that causes the world to go sideways. It’s a theme of our two guest stories – ‘2298‘ by A.R. Olivieri, and another ‘Black Jack Justice‘ tale from Decoder Ring Theatre.
A.R. Olivieri has several audio drama series under his belt, all in the style of tonight’s offering – short installments in a recorded-clip format, that, once you’re hooked, is easily binge-able (without the guilt of spending an entire day to do it). His first-person-narrative style allows for intimate discussions between character and listener and subtle sound design to accent the stories. His newest series, GREAT & TERRIBLE, debuts on Feb 10th with a new episode every Sunday, all year long. The premise – a high-school girl has found immortality, but someone must die every full moon. Be sure to check it out on Apple Podcasts.
The series we’ll be listening to this show is 2298, in which Profile No.24 has been having problems staying focused within the Network – all thanks to one mysterious bird. After that, it’s time for your regular dose of noir with Black Jack Justice from Decoder Ring Theatre. This time, Dixon and Justice find themselves in hot water when Freddie the Finger makes a small mistake with big consequences. Dumb luck has turned to bad luck in Episode 44, “Some Kind of Lucky”. That’s coming up, but first Entries 1-4 of 2298. Enjoy!
