Hello this evening from Kansas City, Missouri! I’m here at the HEAR Now Audio Festival this weekend, celebrating audio storytelling and having a great time – meeting lots of new faces and hearing some great stories. There have been plenty of workshops here for those new to audio, great listening sessions including a review of all the Mark Time Award winners, and fun evening events and after-parties! If you get a chance and you like audio drama, be sure to visit the festival!
And that brings us to our selection tonight – we have a drama entitled “The Witches of Lublin“, a story from SueMedia Productions – one of the production groups here at the festival and whose founder helped start the HEAR Now event three years ago. Our story starts in 1797, with a family of women klemser musicians in Poland as they struggle for survival. What happens when music and love are not enough to save them from the hate that surrounds them? Tune in to find out!
