Welcome, audio drama friends. We’re back with another episode of Decorated Air Theatre‘s “This Thing of Ours“, as well as another installment from our featured scriptwriting competition winners of 2012. Tonight’s selection is “Going Home” by Kathy Brady. They should be fun listens – and we even ended a little early this show, so you can take the rest of the hour off before your next class. 😉
As we continue to showcase our MAT features over the next few weeks, we’re going to make a point of taking some time each show to talk about the scriptwriting competition, the organizations who have lent a hand, the people behind the voices and script and what we hope to do in the future. Tonight, we took some time out to say thanks for the community support in Columbus, Ohio as we undertook this production project this year.
Actors Theatre of Columbus: Actors’ Theatre allowed us to hold auditions for our audio drama roles alongside their calls for their 2013 season. We met a ton of fantastic people at auditions; the acting community in Columbus is incredibly talented. We only wish we could have cast everyone! If you live in Columbus and haven’t gone to see an Actors’ Theatre performance yet, get to the Columbus Commons this weekend and next to see a future-dystopia setting of Romeo and Juliet – you won’t be disappointed.
CCS Recording Arts at Fort Hayes: Our actors worked with the wonderful and talented students of Ryan Van Bibber’s Recording Arts classes at the Fort Hayes campus of the Columbus City School District. The students did a wonderful job, were patient and flexible as we help group recording sessions and spent hours recording multiple takes. We couldn’t have produced these audio dramas without them, so thank you!
