Some announcements!

1. The MAT Scriptwriting Competition is drawing to a close.  Your last day to send us your script is this Sunday, February 4th by 11pm CT.  Once the deadline is passed, our judges will read and review all the applicants over the following weeks, and we’ll be announcing the winners of the competition by the end of the month.  Those scripts that win will be produced and aired on our show as part of our MAT Features collection for 2018.

2.  Speaking of Features, our winning features from last year are about to premiere!  Tune in next week to hear one of the four stories that made last year’s cut while you wait for this year’s winners to be announced.  You can hear the rest of our Features at our website as well.

3. If you’re interested in our Features and live in Columbus, Ohio – you’re in luck!  We’ll be holding auditions for the characters in the upcoming winning scripts soon after they’re announced.  Once again we’re joining Actors’ Theatre of Columbus during their audition weekend for their summer season.  It will be held at the German Village Meeting Haus (588 S. 3rd St.) on March 3-4.  If you’re auditioning just for MAT, walk-ins are welcome – and if you’re there for Actors’ Theatre, you can opt to have your audition count towards MAT as well and kill two birds with one stone.  More details, including audition information for people who cannot make it on March 3-4, will be showing up on our website closer to the end of the month.

Now, about time for some storytelling!  We’ve got a few more stories from Decoder Ring Theatre‘s Black Jack Justice before we dive in to our newest MAT Features, so enjoy the detective duo while they’re here!  This show we’ve got back-to-back stories from Season 6, with Episodes 40 and 41 – “The Albatross” and “Man’s Best Friend”.
